The Royal Garden Hotel Review, Hong Kong

Here’s my full review of the beautiful Royal Garden Hotel in Hong Kong
I recently visited Hong Kong for the first time at the end of a cruise around Southeast Asia, sailing onboard the Viking Venus.
Our ship docked in the Ocean Terminal, surrounded by glistening sky scrapers and the promise of a new city to explore. After spending a final night on the ship, we disembarked and checked into the Royal Garden Hotel in the Tsim Sha Tsui area, which we used as a base before travelling to the airport that evening.
Upon walking inside the hotel, I was instantly impressed by the sheer scale of the place. The hotel is enormous, with 450 rooms and 7 restaurants - one of which, the Dong Lai Shin, even has a Michelin star!
I’ve stayed in a lot of lovely hotels, but riding up the glass elevator and looking out at the resort definitely blew my mind.
I’d been assigned a comfortable Deluxe Room which was spotlessly clean and ready for me upon arrival. As I wasn’t staying the night, I ensured that I had a quick nap to test the quality of the bed before I set out and explored the city (the bed was excellent and so was my nap.)
Not short of facilities, this hotel has an incredible spa and fitness centre located on the 17th floor and accessible for guests. Don’t miss the sky pool, which is a full 25 meters in length and heated to 28 °C during the winter season. Poolside lounge chairs are also available with panoramic views of Victoria Harbour.
As a day guest at the hotel, I wish that I’d had more time to explore all of the facilities they had to offer. With only two full days to spend in Hong Kong, I had to prioritise exploring as much as I possibly could. All too quickly, our transfer arrived at the hotel and whisked us off to the airport for a red eye flight to London Heathrow.
If you’re looking for a luxurious hotel to reside in while visiting Hong Kong, I can highly recommend booking into the gorgeous Royal Garden Hotel.
As part of the cruise with Viking all of our transfers from the ship to the hotel, and onwards from the hotel to the airport were included in the cruise fare. You can also book a post-extension at a variety of locations around Hong Kong.
Thank you again to Viking for hosting me on an amazing cruise around Southeast Asia! It was truly a trip of a lifetime and I will treasure the memories forever.
